Gravel Bike Size Charts and Geometry Checks
Find the gravel sizes published for your height, then check the exact frame’s stack, reach and standover. A road bike’s size label alone cannot carry your riding position over to a gravel bike.
Find your size
Enter your height to see the gravel sizes Trek, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale, and Liv publish for it. Add your inseam to check Trek’s inseam chart.

The finder includes both endpoints and matches original centimeter values without rounding. Imperial table values are approximate conversions. Diverge uses the complete-bike page’s 49 label; a conflicting shared chart lists 48 and 50, which are not sizes on this reference build.
Trek gravel size ranges by inseam
Checkpoint and Checkmate publish rider-inseam recommendations. The captured Diverge, Revolt, Topstone and Devote sources do not, so the chart cannot confirm an inseam match for those models.

A frame’s standover height is a bike measurement, not another rider-inseam recommendation. Measure your cycling inseam and check clearance on the assembled bike.
Can you use your road bike size for gravel?
Use the road bike as a measured reference. Stack locates the top of the head tube vertically above the bottom bracket; reach locates it horizontally. Compare those coordinates, then the stem, bar reach and permitted spacers that place your hands.
Compare the actual frames behind the labels
These two Giant complete bikes both have an M label and a published height range that includes 175 cm. Their frame coordinates still differ.
| Model / size | Stack (mm) | Reach (mm) | Standover (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0 (AXS) M | 545 | 388 | 752 |
| Giant Revolt Advanced 0 M | 586 | 387 | 757 |
The Revolt has 41 mm more frame stack and 1 mm less frame reach than this TCR. That comparison does not establish the handlebar height or distance to the brake hoods, because the cockpit parts also affect those positions.
Road source: Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0 (AXS) (2026) — US, checked 2026-10-25. Gravel source: Giant Revolt Advanced 0 (2026) — US, checked 2026-10-26; SHORT geometry configuration.
Compare your saddle height and setback as well as the frame. If your height matches two sizes, use the between-sizes checks to keep both candidates until you have checked their limits.
How do race and adventure gravel geometries compare?
Compare the particular models and sizes. A race or adventure category does not specify where the bars will sit. The Checkmate and Checkpoint below share the same published M height recommendation but have different stack and reach.
| Model / size | Stack (mm) | Reach (mm) | Standover (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trek Checkmate SLR 9 AXS M (52-54cm) | 560 | 392 | 782 |
| Trek Checkpoint SL 5 AXS Gen 3 M (52-54cm) | 579 | 391 | 799 |
Checkpoint has 19 mm more frame stack and 1 mm less frame reach than Checkmate in these sizes. These are frame differences, not a guarantee of a more upright riding position. Check the supplied stem, bars and spacer limits before comparing the complete setups.

What should you check before ordering a gravel bike?
Confirm the frame, configuration and saddle limits
Match the complete model and version to the source, including the frame configuration and market. Check standover with the intended tires and shoes, and confirm that the seatpost can reach your saddle height while meeting the frame and post insertion limits.
Try the controls in the positions you will use
Check braking from the hoods and drops, with the lever reach adjusted within its permitted range. A shorter stem cannot resolve a frame that fails your saddle-height or clearance checks. Compare steering and braking on a test ride before placing the order.
Use the road bike charts to identify your existing road model’s height range, and the measuring guide to record the measurements you will take to the shop.
