Mountain Bike Size Chart by Height and Model
Start with the height range for the exact mountain bike model. Keep every matching frame option, then check reach, standover and saddle-height limits. Wheel diameter is a separate part of the specification.
Mountain bike height ranges by model
Compare Trek Marlin, Specialized Stumpjumper, Giant Trance X and Cannondale Habit. Each source applies to the model, version and market shown in its table; a Medium label does not transfer between them.

Liv and Juliana mountain bike charts
Compare Embolden and Intrigue X with Joplin, Wilder and Furtado. Embolden keeps each wheel option in Liv’s captured Canada chart. Use these models’ own ranges. A women-specific label does not replace the model’s chart.

What is the difference between wheel size and frame size?
Read the whole published label
In the Embolden table, the letter identifies the frame option and the number in parentheses identifies wheel diameter. Two rows with the same letter can represent different wheel options. A larger wheel number does not by itself mean a larger frame or a longer reach.
Use the model’s chart before comparing labels
Marlin, Stumpjumper, Trance X and Habit have separate published ranges. Check the exact version and market, including whether the wheel option you want is offered with that frame. Do not translate a road bike’s centimeter label into a mountain bike letter size.
How should you compare mountain bike reach?
Compare frame geometry and the cockpit together
Frame reach measures the horizontal distance from the bottom bracket center to the top of the head tube. It helps compare the front of the frames, but stem length, bar rise and sweep also affect where your hands sit. Check the exact geometry chart and supplied parts for each candidate. The same letter does not guarantee the same position.
Check saddle and dropper-post limits
Confirm that the seatpost can reach your pedaling height without exceeding insertion limits and, if fitted, that the dropper can lower far enough for you. Check standover on the assembled bike as well as comfortable access to the grips and brakes.
If your height overlaps two options, follow the between-bike-sizes checks before deciding. The measuring guide explains how to record your height and cycling inseam.
